Had an replacement a week ago and I would like advice on how long before I can get the glue wet. I've managed to have a shower every day Without wetting it. Is a week long enough, I know it sounds a stupid question but when I got my original pm my scar split open and I don't want the same to happen again. When I left the hospital they told me two days before getting it wet a local pharmacist however told me two weeks.

Skin glue

You can get the skin glue wet after 24 hrs. Showering is fine. You just don't want to submerge the incision site in a body of water (ie. bath, hot tub, swimming pool) until the incision is completely healed and skin glue has come off the tissue. This is the discharge instructions that we give our patients per our surgeons orders. Hope this is helpful to you & that you get along well. Best wishes:-)

If you shower the advice I got was that it was fine to have a shower after 48 hours but not to have the water from the shower playing directly on the scar for a week.
getting it wet

I couldn't shower for 4 days. 1 month until I could emerge into water ie...swimming or a bath. After that is fine and dandy.
