Has anyone ever had their pacemaker with defibillator migrate up in the chest vs down? My husband's was implanted on Dec 20th 2013 - he is 44 yrs old with cardiomyopothy . We returned to the hospital where it was implanted on Jan 13/14 - they will move it due to the fact that it is hitting a nerve and sitting directly on his collar bone...extremely painful for him...we have no surgury date as of yet.
Thank you in advance to all could help us....we are "newbies" and haven't any expectations at all after all the conflicting/confusing information we have recieved.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.

If it is that painful and hitting a nerve, I guess they will need to move it unless it gets better in time. They try not to go back in so soon.
What is the conflicting/ confusing info you have been given?
