Had My Annual..

Check In with the cardio, and my pacer is still going strong with 8yrs left on the battery life. My cardio then asked if he could use me as a "poster child" for earlier implantation in cases like mine. The medical community has a very hmmm....let's wait and see approach when it comes pacers in the under 50 crowd, unless you are DOA I have noticed. My cardio is pushing for that to change, when appropriate, because I have no doubt that without the pacer, I wouldn't be able to live my life the way I do.

Anyway, I poke my head around here sometimes, to all the new ones, pacer life gets better, remember that it is technically heart surgery when you get implanted, it's going to suck for a bit, but the rewards are worth it!

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
