From my EP's PA, who is a wonderful and very helpful woman. This was out of the blue to me. She asked me how I was feeling on Saturday night. I told her, okay, tired, since we were in the last evening of the musical at my school and I was conducting the pit orchestra.
She told me that when I transmitted that night (I'm fully wireless since I'm the proud host of a St. Jude 2210) they flagged a very fast rhythm of over 200. She said it was fairly short duration, about 15 minutes, and the rhythm itself was not overtly dangerous, and was basically a run SVT that originated in the Sinus node.
She is ready to chalk up this episode to a bit of extra stress, but she says if I get more of these episodes that they are probably going to up my meds/adjust settings. She says I have been doing great since implantation (6 months next week), and they are getting a clearer picture of what my electrical short-circuits actually are.
Part of me is relieved that they monitor that closely, but I also have a bit of the "big-brother" syndrome going on, where I am a little wary they get that much information.
What are your thoughts on automatic remote monitoring?

I'm a runner, mountain climber, kayaker, snow skier, bicycler and scuba diver. The only activity among those that I'm not yet cleared to do is scuba diving, and when I am cleared, I'll be limited to diving to 50 feet.

I think it's great that they can keep tabs on you like that. yeah it might be a bit too much for some folks but it sounds like they are really trying to help you. I just read your profile and you sound a little like me. I just got my PM last Monday (4/7) and except for some soreness I feel fantastic. I think you do compensate a lot sometimes. I know I feel sooo much better it's incredible and to think we have the technology now that even 20 years ago we didn't! before my PM I felt as if I was 90 going on 100! now I feel like 30 again--even better than when I was in my 30's ha! (I'm 54) but I feel so young again! Good luck to you.
