Hi was I am going tomorrow for a check up on my PM. I had PM installed Oct. 28th. for Syncopy Complete Heart Block.
I am still dizzy so they have moved my check up to Nov. 20th from Dec. 6th.
What questions do I need to ask. I know they installed a Boston Scientific dual PM. My bottom rate is set at 45
other than that I know anything.
I am hoping to head south for the winter on Dec. 7th.

Low rate

I would think 45 is a little low, unless you do a lot of physical activities. When I first got mine they set is at 60-140. I had to have some tweaking done and they lowered it to 50 because of all the exercising I do. My normal before PM was 50-60 bpm. I think if you check around not too many of us have a setting below 50. Some doctors would consider the 40's as bradycardia.
Get in there and ask lots of questions!
Good luck,
Jerry

I really don't do a lot of exercise except golf, but usually ride. I was golfing all summer 2-3 times a week. Just 9 holes, no problem. Once weather change in mid Oct. that was when i had my problems start. My pluse was always a constant 50 no matter what I did. Prior to the BP med. Nadol 20 mg. per day it was 80, constantly.
I still feel alot of my problem now is medication, which the heart Dr. did not prescribe but didn't change when I was in the hospital. My own GP cut me down to 10 mg. but am still dizzy. My pulse rate has been 55 to 70, avg. in mid 60's lately depending on what I am doing. Just took at reading PR 57 BP 157/93 at rest.
Something not right here. It seems the lower my PR the higher my BP

Not sure what to ask

Got my PM on 8-Oct. Felt dizzy when they queried the PM as it went back into a test mode. Other than that no problems.
I would definitely let Cardiologist and PM tech know. Based upon what I've read on the forum you may need a little tweaking.
Part of what's going on may be your body adjusting to life with the PM. It's a sharp learning curve. What I did for the previous eight years isn't the same now. So I'm relearning what I have to do.
But I'd still discuss w/cardiologist and PM tech.
Hope this helps.
