My PM rate is between 80 and 110. When I use the cross trainer I can't use any elevation or resistance or the heart rate goes above the 110 and it doesn't drop. To keep it below 110, I have to exercise at a slow pace. Don't understand, if 110 is the top HR why does it go above that?

Ask for it to be adjusted

Hi Iggy. I would ask the clinic to adjust your PM to accept a higher hr. I know different makes have different maximum rates but I'm sure they are all above 110 from what I've read on here in the past. I use the cross trainer a lot in the gym with no problems, though I'm fortunate to only be 5% paced.
Small range

That setting seem to have a small range. However you don't mention other specifics. I'm set at 50 - 140. Because I exercise a lot my normal before PM was 50 - 60. My Doc told me that anything above 140 means my heart is working without the aid of the PM. That's a good thing. It's OK if you go over 110. I don't understand when you say it doesn't drop. Are you going 110 after you work out even if you are sitting?

Heart Rate Normal after PM Removed

The PM I had implanted in August was removed on 20 November due to the incision not healing. Since it has been removed, Since then, I have been monitoring my pulse rate and BP regularly and everything seems normal. There has only been one change the doctor made before releasing me from the hospital. He took me off of my old blood pressure medicine (Motropolol) and replaced it with Isozorbide. Now I'm beginning to wonder if I ever needed a PM in the first place or would the change in meds corrected my original problem.

pacing

Your heart can go as fast as it wants on its own. It can only pace to 110. They should be able to turn it up higher if you are maxing out at your upper limit while exercising.
