...........................check with your Medics to see if you are ok to do gym....

They will be predictably conservative,..but take note..

Me,. merely three times your age and off road race every Saturday..just 5 km...

This Friday I will do the Hope Skelleton Run up Beacon Hill , Loughborogh UK..a Halloween Night Run,..me with my HOPE R4 head light.

Why did you get your pm? If you are otherwise healthy, if the pm fixes your heart problems, you should be able to do whatever you want. If your device is very close to the collarbone, be careful with heavy barbells, you can pinch the leads.

Gyming?

Whatever gyming is, you should be OK. I'm 21, and got my ICD implanted at 19. My doctor said wait 90 days for the leads to grow in, and I have pretty well no limitations now. If you mean gyming as in going to a gym to lift weights, I see no reason not to, as long as heart problems don't prevent it.

Yes I am a gyming person as well, implanted last January 2013, 71 yrs old. Listen to your body and your senses. Heavy weights can be harmful I use to lift my body weight, very much enjoy lifting. But my program is much lighter now with less work on my chest and shoulders. I do moderate to heavy, curls, biceps and vigorously work legs. Slowly moving to stomach again. May not be what you want to hear but in any case listen to your Dr. for the first year. You're young and have the rest of your life for gyming.
Good gyming, Lee

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
