Possible Replacment

Hi, well i am at the hospital tomorrow for my checkup to see if my Pacemaker is ready to be replaced, been back and fore about 6 time now Since May 2103, which i keep getting told another 6 months showing on the battery. Been 21 months since i was told 9 months left in July 2012.

Anyone else had exoerience of Battery lasting longer than expected. Had this one 8.5 years now, first one was 22 years

Battery Replacement Criteria

by donr - 2014-02-27 10:02:54

Batteries are checked by measuring their output voltage while under load & comparing that to their voltage output without load.

As a battery uses up its stored energy, this test shows a decreasing battery voltage.

It is not a precision prediction, many factors can influence the battery's life. As long as the voltage stays above the lowest acceptable value for use, the PM will give you a predicted life. So, what's it going to do? It gets to the end of its prediction & the battery still has an acceptable voltage - it just re-sets the prediction to give you another 6 months - or whatever the algorithm says it should have corresponding to the current voltage.

Predicting the future is not easy for any situation.

As I just told Nana Sarah - my battery prediction only missed its predicted date for going into EOL Mode by three days. Then I had another 90 days to get the battery replaced before it quit completely. Not a problem.
