Hey Everyone!!!!
I just had my first pacemaker implanted a week and two
days ago, and I'm 60 years old.
Everything has gone fine and I got my staples out.
But, when will I start feeling stronger and have more energy?
I am probably rushing it, but I've been feeling bad so long, I'm
So ready to have some energy and feel better.
Thanks!!!

Welcome it takes time to heal. I know I had the low energy for too long and when I got the PM in I thought it would be instant. I was impatient and not very happy. It doesn't work that way. I found this place and have been comong and reading lots of messages. Keep on going relax see the Dr. when you need. take care
Well Tex,

Welcome, give yourself some time, we all heal at different rates. so no one can give you a date when you can saddle up and ride. Just start, walk a block today and keep adding, don't over do, you had surgery, the inside has to heal too. If you have questions keep posting, lots of good people on here to respond. I'm sure you will hear more yet today. Good luck and glad to hear fom you. Jean
You'll feel good!

Hi,
I am 61, had my PM implanted 9/17 and ran a 5K Saturday. My time was off a little, but that's from healing. You will need to wait until your leads heal, then you'll be back to your old (good) self.
Try some walking to keep yourself active.
Good luck!!
You know you're wired when...
You can take a lickin and keep on tickin.

Welcome aboard. Guess this note makes me the official Wal-Mart greeter for the evening.
I'm going to let someone else answer part of your question - but I will be the opening act in this drama.
I have an assignment for you - Go to the top left corner of this page & find the SEARCH button. Click on it & enter "Some Tough Love for Newbies." I wrote it for new members like you w/ the same questions you have asked. It will give you a perspective on what you face. Should help you sort out some issues that we all face when having a PM implanted.
