I just passed the two year mark for my pm. My celebration? Something is now poking up under my skin. I am rather freaked out about it. Tuesday I see a new cardiologist. (my former one considered me a just a pacemaker patient, not a person.) My question is: have others had this happen, and what ended up being the solution? I cannot think I will get away without surgery. Thus the freaking out! Thank you all for all your support and answers for two years!

Not sure if what you are experiencing is the same as I have experienced. I had that occur for the first time after my last change-out almost twelve years ago. The wires are kinda poking up into my skin near their connection to the generator. It bother me for a year or two, but then I kinda got use to it. Hasn't bothered me since. I kid my doc about the fact that since one of my leads is thirty years old he must have had to use electrical tape and bailing wire to keep it connected to the generator. He just laughs!
Hey, as long as it keeps working..........that's all I care about!

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!

Have had it happen to others on the forum. Rare, but it does happen.
Sorry, but I think the only solution was surgery.
I do hope everything goes well for you and that you have a quick solution.
