Hopefully a new beginning

Friday is a big day! I get a 3year loop monitor. It's been a long bumpy road since being diagnosed with SSS. I recently had some episodes and one of these I wrecked my car. Not bad thank goodness but did give "The Jolly Roger" a messed up passenger mirror. When we got to hospital of course the tricky SSS decided not to show it's ugly head. I was kept over night in the cardiac unit to monitor but no episodes showed up. At least this way they will get to see what I feel.

why monitor?

If the episode was bad enough to wreck your car, why not skip the monitor and get right to fixing the problem (pm)? Good luck.

Don't know

I'm not sure. I asked the doctor and she said they want to make sure they put the right one in. They have told me I can't drive and gave me a while long list of do'a and don'ts

second opinion?

Have you had a second opinion? A Holter monitor? Three years is a LONG time to study it when you can get a 30 day monitor that doesn't need surgery to put it in. I don't think I'd be that patient if I was told I couldn't drive!! As for the right one, there aren't that many to choose from, that sounds like a stall tactic, imo.

(I apologize if you've discussed this in other posts, I've been away and am behind)

Yes I have had a second and third opinion and they all suggest a loop monitor.
