Hi
Iâve worn pacemakers since the age of 2 and I had a box change last year. After getting the go ahead from my doctors I recently began jogging, which I really enjoy. I have started easy by doing the walk/jog method and so far it hasnât caused me any problems.
I am interested in taking protein whey (the milkshake kind) to help with me fitness and energy levels. Does anyone know if itâs safe for a pacemaker user to drink a product like this and if so what brands are best.
Advice pleaseâ¦
Thanks,
John

Best Whey Protein biPro

Look up BIPROUSA.COM. You can order online. It is the purest whey protein product available. No sugar, carbs, fat, flavorings or artificial ingredients. Contains all the essential amino acids.
I use it every day in my cereal. It disappears in the milk. Nice that it doesn't have to be used as a "chocolate or vanilla drink" like so many on the market. But you can add it to almost anything cold to drink- milk, choc milk, or eat like cereal, yogurt, fruit smoothie, etc... It has no flavor. Just pure protein.
Enjoy!

We can eat anything we want! I do a protein smoothie after my workouts, also, today's was chocolate with banana and raspberries. There are a lot of junk brands of protein powder out there. Look for one that's organic, that's sweetened with stevia rather than refined sugars or sucralose, one that doesn't have a lot of ingredients you can't pronounce. There are a number of websites out there that compare the powders on taste and nutrition.
Shakes, even ones full of good stuff, are not a substitute for eating well. Fitness and energy is a combination of working out and how you fuel your body. Good luck with the running!
Love my post-workout shake!

My husband and I are doing the 90-day health challenge with Visalus. I had my pacemaker put in July 2012 and wasn't able to start any physical exercise till this year. I have lost 25 pounds and am building muscle back now with working out at home and our shakes. I LOVE our shakes! We use them with breakfast and as a post-workout. I feel stronger and better than I have in years now even with the pacemaker!! You can join the challenge and learn more at www.waitingnomore.com

a protein shake. Agree with Tracey that the best shake doesn't substitute for eating well. I've been using the Shaklee brand for many years now. Use it as part of breakfast and after hard workouts or hiking. It is available online- for transparency please note that my wife and I now distribute the product through our own website. You can PM me for info.
We've found their stuff to be equal or better than anything in the standard commercial marketplace. Every Jack and Jill that wants to sell protein comes up with reasons why theirs is the best, but these guys have been around since the mid-fifties and have "real" science and research behind their products.
I apologize for the commercial but based on the results I've had I really believe in this stuff.
