Hello.
Im 37 years old, am about to have my pacemaker repositioned under the muscle as presently under the skin it has moved and it almost popped out.
I was wondering will i be able to feel it or see any bumps once done.
I am 6ft 1 and normal build.
Im guessing if you push on it you will always be able to feel it, but I am unsure what to expect as a Man with a fairly thin chest.
Thanks in advance fro the advice,

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.

In reading your postings you mentioned "A Man with a fairly thin chest". Having been through a number of traveling pacemakers I found my 4th replacement under muscle was really a good move. As I'm a skinny chested male & WAY too active I managed to squish my 4th (right chest) pacemaker also. My 5th also traveled & eroded last year. Actually in my case being much older & lifting, stretching, doing 30 year old activities at age 82 along with no suitchering of any of my implants was a "BIG" factor.
Fortunately last summer I went to a world renowned implant specialist who did a great job in putting my 6th pacemaker under muscle in my right abdomen. No physical limitations & complete comfort. I can't believe the pain in my skinny chest the past 22 years with my 1st 5 pacemakers.
As I still see my original Cardiologist he agrees that I should have had a belly implant from day 1. He said records show that anyone with my skinny chest & zero fat will have problems. He also pointed to a nice thin layer of fat above my belly muscle which adds to the comfort. MY leads are now routed below my implant into the vein in my groin up to my heart. No old leads were removed.
