It's official

I had my pacemaker implanted yesterday. It is a Metronic bi-lateral multi-chamber device, I think. As prepared as I tried to make myself for this, everything is still a bit foggy. I am now resting comfortably at home. I was flat on my back from 7:30 yesterday morning until 10:30 last night (a long story that I will put in a different post).

The tech told me that we are pacing the lower chamber with three leads, two in the front and one in the back. Those are about all of the sketchy details I have at the moment. But I look forward to a lasting relationship with you fellow warriors.

I am healing on four fronts at the moment. Both sides of my groin were used for the ablation, the pacer implant area, and the lead ends. I am going to be taking it very easy for a few days.

Glad to hear you are home resting. Please do take it a bit easy on yourself. Do not lift anything heavy as instructed by your doctor or nurse : ) . Did you have a PM with an ICD implanted? Catch up with you in a few days fellow warrior.

Thanks! No ICD, just the biventricular pacemaker. Lower level pacing is set at 70. I actually only drank three cups of coffee yesterday. (Down from 10 to 14 cups per day prior to the implant.) I don't remember what pacing at 70 felt like but I am certainly loving it now. Sleeping much better. Minor, very minor pain at the incision site. I am really feeling good about this. And no heart drugs to take. Yea!!!
