I have had my pm since March -- I keep getting this shooting pain in my scar and around it that feels like a bee sting or an electrical zap. It makes me jump each time. The scar is still bright red, and the pain when you touch it is unreal. I asked the doctor about the scar last June, and he said to use an over the counter salve to help it heal. I noticed that it has little tiny bumps on the scar now.
I do not go back until December - I dont know if all of this is normal or if I should go back sooner... what do you think?

...has you worried, go back NOW.
My scar itched literally forever & was sensitive to the touch.
I have a scar on my abdomen from having a big chunk of colon removed last May. Right now it is feeling funny. It is full of lumps & sensitive spots, & there isn't even a PM behind it.
You have to consider how such a scar would feel w/ o the PM involved, if you think this is more than what a normal scar would do, go in. People do have serious problems w/ JUST the incision sometimes & the only way to rule that out is to go in.
Do the tiny bumps ooze or are they red & feverish? That could mean an infection. Now THAT needs to be checked/ruled out.

Go back sooner

Bee stings and zaps is one thing but "pain when you touch it is unreal`` is quite another this long after surgery. I don`t think I would wait. Donr is right. It could be infection especially if the scar is bright red. I had my ICD implant in early July and the scar is only light pink. Everyone is different but it can`t hurt to have it checked out.
Get checked out

The bee sting feeling is most likely the nerves knitting back together still. Many of us have had that feeling.
The unreal pain should be investigated. That is not normal 6-7 months later. Don't wait another 2 months.
Good luck and let us know.

..................these guys are right. If you fear an infection, then save your worries and give the Medics a chance to get in quick if you need to zap an infection.....they, just like you, don't want do deal with you when its already set in.
Scars, are just that...they remind us that we are fantastic at repairing ourselves !!
Mrs Tattoo Man had a life saving operation in 1969 and still, occasionally has 'bad scar days'. Oddly my new PM in my right shoulder is totally twinge-free, whereas my old site, which has had three procedures done ,...is the one that gets the niggles .
Let PMC know how you get on...I'm sure you will be ok.
