Hey just wondering

Well im 4 days post op had a dual lead pacemaker placed- im doing well and feeling more energy everyday :) family is always on me about resting and not doing too much ) its soo hard to lay around tho- my blood pressure is great 117 to 124 / 70-82 consistently without bp meds - where before my pacer i was either 90/59 to 156/95 or anywhere in between and hr of 42-52 with dips in to 30's at sleep. My hr now is 69-70 consistant. Pacemaker setting 70 & 130 . The top lead at my atrium is working 97% of the time and the lead for ventricle is not used much at all they said- i noticed myself have pvc's or palpitations prior to pacer and assumed it was brought in by the crazy fluctuations with the sss - but now with my pacermaker i still have these sensations randomly ( yet primarily when im lying down. My counter according to boston scientific tech showed i had 525 pvcs (over3 days) . It just seems u feel them more freq. Yet my pacer was interrogated and everything is working properly - i figure im just more sensitive to every sensation right now ) anyone else feel more pvcs after their pacer? Is it ok. ? It feels weird but doesnt cause me sob or fainting etc

PM's Cannot help w/ PVC's

That's why you still sense them.

A PM is like a gas pedal in a car - can make it go faster, but slow it down. That takes a brake pedal. That's one thing a PM is NOT! We have yet to develop things which can accurately predict the future & that's what a PM would have to do to stop PVC's.

Why do you sense them while you are lying down - good question. Most likely because you are still & not thinking about anything else, so up pops a PVC & you sense it. No big deal - they are not dangerous. To quote my Cardio "They won't kill you." They obviously don't because I'm still here & I just had 103,000 of them in 47 days. That's not even 1 per minute, IIRC my math on the episodes. 525 in 72 hrs is not even 10 per hour - call that 1 every 6 minutes. Piker!!!!!

PVC's are annoying but not dangerous. If you have them long enough, you will get used to them & stop noticing them.

Thank you
