New Pacemaker Recipient

I had a pacemaker installed on June 20, 2013. I'm still recovering from the surgery and the area around it is still very tender. How long does it take for a full recovery?

I think we are all different. I was not aware of any tenderness after 3 days and haven't had any since

Best of luck

Ian.

Tenderness

by goldenoldy - 2013-07-01 03:07:06

It does differ with everyone. Mine was increasingly tender and seems to have moved closer to the surface. So next week on the 11th I am having the little feller moved deeper to behind the muscle. Hopefully nothing else will be disturbed and it will continue to do the good job its been doing since January. Hope yours settles down.

Me too...

My replacement was a week ago friday & it's still tender. The nurse told me that it depends on how much tissue was disturbed in the placement .... the doc was trying to bury it a bit deeper so it wouldn't stand up so much like the previous one did, and it is rather large so lots of pushing & pulling went on...

Tender still

I received my PM June 11. The amount of post op pain really varies among us. I hope it resolves with time. Mine is just under skin and sticks out quite a bit. The entire area is still quite sensitive and tender.
