Rate response is a tricky thing to get set correctly. I had to go for my second interrogation within a month of implantation. They said my device was very sensitive. I think they got it this time. Now I can feel a couple of beats that feel like they stumble when I come off pacemaker and back onto my SA Node. It only does it for two or three beats and then the pacemaker kicks back in. Its annoying!!!

Hi!
That might not have anything to do with the rate response. Your pacemaker is probably just checking the intrinsic rate. It stops pacing, gives the SA node or AV node a certain period of time to kick in with an appropriate rate, and if it doesn't, it'll start pacing again. Can be annoying, but it's really important to let your heart do as much work as possible on its own. I have had this when my pacemaker switched modes between AAIR and DDDR, and while I at first thought it was annoying, I somehow got used to it.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.

My Dr has changed my settings more times than i can count plus they turn it on and off.. Mine is so bad that when they turn it on and i ride in my husbands truck i have the worst pain. It's like i have been punched in the back and chest at the same time. They change the rate response in hopes they can fix the pain. Also when i walk at times it sets it off. It is a hugh pain in the AS@ ... I have really bad extra beats and im on 2 meds that dont help so they are keeping the rate response on at the moment in hopes it will help. I hate having it on and want it off so bad
