Hello everyone! Yesterday I went for a check up and they told me my pacemaker is not working well, they have to re-position after almost 8 weeks of my first surgery...I am worried!!
Has anyone experience this before?

The leads or the pm itself? Unless you're in a lot of pain that's not getting better I can't think of a reason to mess with the pocket. Sometimes the leads don't stay where they're put, or the place they're put turns out to not conduct very well. There's nothing to worry about. It will be a lot like the first surgery, only not nearly as bad because you already have the pocket. You will have the same restrictions after as the first time. Good luck to you.
If you search "lead revision" you will find quite a few others in the same situation.

Moving & Re-positioning !!

I have had a number of the above surgeries along with a revision. After using up my left chest with pacemakers moving around with the 3rd eroding. After that my surgeon did my 4th implant along with another pair of leads in my right chest.
Again in about 3 years my pacemaker took a ride towards my armpit with terrible swelling & pain. That was 6 months ago and they did a revision of my site & implanted my 4th pacemaker which was last November.
Again, another repeat a few weeks ago & only worse, This time it moved & rotated 180 degrees with the lead terminals looking into my armpit. So, with this 5th pacemaker partially eroded & also a broken atrial lead as interogation showed no atrial sensing.
If I am really carefull until June 17th, my scheduled surgery will be in Detroit with the top Cardiologist Surgeon near me & hopefully he can anchor my 6th pacemaker after he repairs a home for it. (revision). I'm not enthused about the replacement lead as I'm sure they will extract my atrial lead as I have 4 leads taking space in my veins & heart
now.
As I'm 81 years old & way too acitive (thank you PMs') I believe I'll have to admit I will be a "Senior Citizen" after this next battle, if I survive.

I have had to have my pacemaker pocket revised but only due to the positioning, it had slid down near my armpit. It was still functioning correctly. Did they say what exactly was causing it not to function? I can't imagine the location of the generator itself is causing less than peak function as the generator doesn't really do anything except..generate power. Do your leads need to be repositioned? I know it's not fun to have another surgery but just stay assured that they want to make sure everything is working perfectly for the long run. And it's not any more risky than your original implantation, you will just have to deal with the soreness all over again :(
