wait time before returning to play

My surgeon said to wait two months to return to full golf to give scar tissue chance to adhere leads to heart wall. I have read some posts that suggest three months. Thoughts?

Every doc had different guidelines. I had to wait three weeks to do anything strenuous...my feeling is if he said 3 weeks and you want to play golf at 2 weeks -- what's one more week compared to the rest of yr life. I wouldn't take a chance I would wait. Some docs say 6 weeks. Just my opinion.

I live between PGA and LPGA headquarters, so we have more than the average number of golfers and they have their very own paragraph on the ep's instruction sheet. My doc says 6 weeks to raise the arm higher than shoulder level or heavy lifting. Anything is ok after 6 weeks except wait 3 months for a full golf swing.

They don't really know, it's just a precaution and they are guessing. Do what you feel comfortable with. The leads are in pretty well and it's very rare for us to do anything that will cause them to come out after the first 48 hours.

I was told to wait 3 months to golf and on the small print line...... THIS IMPLANT WILL NOT HELP YOUR GOLF GAME, TAKE LESSONS !!! :-)

I'm a golfer and I had my pacemaker put in over a year ago. I waited 6 weeks to do anything in golf. It's a bummer and when you get back into it you basically have to start over. Don't raise your arm above your head!!!! Patience. It's better safe than sorry.
