Wound opened up a bit.

I am now 16 days post pacemaker fitting and the wound opened up on one side today. I put on a steri stitch and a dressing. I did not need this. I'm just venting here as you will have a better understanding of these things and what I'm going through. Anyway that's my tale of woe for today.

Hi Angry Sparrow. I took your advice and contacted the Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specilais (I kid you not that is her title). She warned me of the danger of infection and advised me as a first port of call to see my GP and if he is happy with the situation to follow his advise and to phone her on Monday with an update. If there is still a bleed at that stage, she wants to see the Cardiologist and ahs made a provisional appointment for Monday. My GP said there was no sign of infection but that with the wound seeping a little there is a danger of infection. He gave me an antibiotic ointment and antibiotic pills.
All this is precautionary. Thanks for the push to have it checked. I was inclined to leave it and observe.
