Hi all.
I'm 22 years old, had a pacemaker surgery due to my congenital AV complete heart block. That was about 6 weeks ago. In the first week of recovery, I had terrible nerve pains in my shoulder, then headaches and such. (In my RIGHT shoulder, and my pacemaker is in the left one). Had to go to the ER, but they just checked the pacemaker, and it worked well. So soon the pain stopped and I seemed to recover fully. But recently I started feeling very dizzy, especially everytime I stood up, I think it's a worse kind of dizziness than I used to have before the surgery, I almost pass out. Does anyone know what this might be? and if it's really not normal? or something I need to see my doctor for? Has anyone experienced it?
Best wishes,
Janet

Setting Change

I'm with the others. Check with your doctor. If you haven't had your first PM check where they look at keeping your settings the same or making some changes to them, than it's probably time to see about getting that scheduled. Like mentioned above, sometimes a quick setting change is all you need.
If not, they can look into other things that could be wrong. Again, as mentioned above, adjustments and BP are two things that come to mind to me too. Another thing to think about is, are you on any new medications? Any at all? Did they send you home with any meds that you weren't taking before, whether it be pain meds, sleeping or anti-anxiety meds, new heart meds, etc? Those can have some really icky, weird side effects.
I sure hope you get things figured out soon. I know it's not fun when you don't know what's going on.
I know you'll get a lot more suggestions on what could be going on. Hopefully, one or more of us hits on what it could be.
Good luck!

Have you checked your blood pressure? Your Dr might need to make some changes to your settings on your pacemaker. i would give him or her a call
