Hi everyone! Went back to get my PM adjusted AGAIN (twice since my surgery on 4-09) But NOW I feel great!!!!!!! Dr. had put my PM low rate up to 80 thinking this would help me not feel the PAC's as much but I felt miserable! It did not help with the PAC's! Really haven't been feeling the best since the surgery. But today the Medtronic rep adjusted the Rate Response. Didn't think to ask about that before - just knew it was on for SSS.
So he adjusted the RR to low sensitivity and put the low rate back to 70. WOW - what a difference a little adjustment makes!!!!
Thanks so much for all the good advice here. I feel like a new person!
Keep well,
juju

Hi Juju!
It's so good to hear you're feeling better! I, as well as a lot of others, know how much of a difference a PM setting change or two can make. Now that I'm at the right settings, I don't want them to touch them ever again! LOL! I'm sure, you're thinking the same thing.
I too, have had a bad experience with a wrong RR adjustment. It can truly make the difference between being able to go hiking and not being able to walk up a flight of stairs. It's a scary feeling when all of the sudden you can't even walk across the floor after they messed with your settings. Who would have ever known? It's kind of freaky when you think of how much control our PM techs have, isn't it? Thank God, they can always change things for the better when we're not feeling well.
It's crazy what works for some and not for others. I have my low rate set at 80. When they dropped it to 70, I didn't feel well at all. When they bumped it back up to 80, I was going strong again!
It's good for others to see this, so if they're not feeling well, they can suggest their tech make some changes to their settings. Sometimes, a setting change or two, is all it takes to make you feel like a brand new person!
Congratulations on feeling better! I love reading positive posts! :)
Good Show!

JuJu: you are getting the hang of this PM hosting business. You sound better today than ever.
Now just learn to ignore the PAC's. Probably be a heck of a lot easier, now that a lot of your other problems are apparently solved.
Congrats!

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.
Good Job

For sticking with it and getting it fixed. Glad you are feeling better! Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the settings right.
