Since having my pm 9 months ago I have been having trouble with my arm (nearest my pm insertion) it swells turns bluey/grey and sometimes I lose all feeling in it. I think I am suffering from a subclavian vein occlusion and am awaiting to put this to my cardiologist but in the mean time was wondering if anyone has experienced this and could give me any info or advice
Many thanks
Vicky

Hi thankyou for your reply, where my incision was made has been tender to touch for around 4 months there's no difference in colour but is tender and can not have anything press on it, my shoulder and neck ache constantly and I have been getting headaches too. I've been to my doctors many a times with these symptoms and more and still I am struggling. I just wish someone would take me serious and get it sorted, but thankyou for your info and advice x

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.

Hi, Vicky,
I was dx'd with a subclavian vein occlusion seven years ago, after having had a central intravenous line placed in my chest. The symptoms I experienced were extreme pain in neck and upper chest and it was hard to the touch and the skin around it appeared red and warm. At that time I only had a IV line and not a pm. I would encourage you to ask your doctor because if it is a thrombosis, prompt attention is necessary to keep the vein intact.
Blessings and trust all is well,
Beth
