Hi ! 2 weeks after Av node ablation and new PM. I got out of the hospital the day after surgery but had to return 3 days later for A-fib and had to be cardioverted. Home now but with paracarditis that is giving me a lot of discomfort. I am not sure how long this recovery is going to take. I feel like there is a giant bubble inside my chest. Bending or lying down causes pain, beleave it our not it hurts to swallow food. Has anyone had this? How long does it take to get on the mend?

I had it recently...

...as there was a complication during my surgery. Mine took about a week to clear up but it varies per individual. Try to sleep sitting up, bent forwards on pillows if you can. As Tracey said, head to the ER if it gets worse.
Thank you both

Pericarditis is nothing to mess around with. If you are not feeling better, if the pain is worse, go to the ER asap.
