palps when walking

Goodmorning. I am so sorry to be bothering you all again but I just had my adjustment on Friday to be reset from 2 day before on Wednesday. I had a good weekend and this morning was going to work and I was alittle dizzy driving but not bad. When I got out of the car and starting walking I had so many palps that I had to sit down get my breathe and then was able to continue on. I do have a appt this Friday but I went ahead and put in a call to the doctor, just waiting on a call back. I am not sure what is anxiety anymore and what is my heart. I like the posititve attitudes on here and that people do not really feel sorry for themselves. I am trying really hard not to be anxious but these palps and slight dizziness makes me so anxious and over the edge.

Had anyone else had palpations like this when walking? So sorry that I might keep asking the same questions. And also does anyone know if there are support groups that we can attend?

Thank you in advance.

Not a bother

That is what we are all here for. It takes time for both of you. Sometimes it can take more than a few adjustments. Any adjustments you make now may help, but may still need readjusting down the road when the swelling calms down and everything settles in.

When in doubt, speak to your Doctor.

You tend to notice your heart more now because of all you have been through. It is still early for both of you but don't forget Cardiac Rehab when the time comes...it really works wonders.

What a group we ...

...have if we gathered all the people together who have your problems!

You have smacked on nail right on the head when ypo mention the difficulty deciding which is heart & which is head! That takes a lot of experience & a lot of good judgment. Recall that good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment. A couple false alarms to the Dr & ER & you will learn what is real. No other way to learn, trust me.

About two weeks ago, #2 Daughter, who is a small town ER Doc called me at about 10 PM & asked me to come to her ER. Mysterious call, to say the least. When I got there, she had a man w/ a PM who just made a false alarm visit to see her. She asked me to talk to him - she said he was stressed out beyond belief & scared beyond imagination.

Her description was an absolute understatement! He, his wife & I talked for an hour about PM Hosting head vs Heart problems & how to sort them out. After pleasantries, small talk & introductions, I asked him what was wrong. He said "I'm scared!". "What about, I asked." "That I'm gonna die," he replied. Seems that everything that happened to him scared the daylights out of him & he was just so stressed that he was afraid of death. When I got there, I looked at his monitor on the ceiling & he was pacing 100% in the atria. It should have only been about 30%. That was what stress will do to you. I continued to watch his monitor & at about the 45 min point, he relaxed & he went to 0% pacing! Both of them left feeling like they understood what the PM was all about - mainly that IT WILL NOT LET YOU DIE with the electrical failure he had. No one had ever told him that. No one had ever given him a good discussion of how it all works.

he just added a big dose of experience leading to good judgment. Oh, BTW - he had been a host for 8 months! It takes time & patience.

Hang in there, you will make it.

Coping

I also have a hard time deciding what is anxiety or real heart issues. I bet one of the long time members gives you a good and positive reply. I am all for that positive approach and like to add humor when I can. Just home from my ICD and having your husband wash your hair is hysterical . He put so much mouse on it it was sticky. Next time he can put in my hand first then I will put the right amount in my hair. Just wanted you to have a laugh!

Glad you put a call into the Doc. You can't take a chance with this kind of thing.

You know you're wired when...

You have the perfect reason to show off your chest.
