I am on my second pacer put in 2007. Reason: I have Carotid Artery Disease and any pressure on my neck will stop my heart. Never had BP problems until I had the second one put in, and it went up to 203/87. Had to take (2) BP medications for a year before Dr lower me to one pill only. I stay at 140/ 80's all the time.
Now here it is 2013 and all of a sudden on New Years Eve night (Not drinking or partying), I experienced chest spasms, fast heart beat and nausea. No chest pain. Scared me. Felt really bad. My BP was 188/ 86. Called Dr. Office and he told me to take another half BP pill until I could come in to Cardiologists office next week. The extra pill helped and BP down in the 60's. No more nausea.
Has anyone experienced Blood Pressure shooting up related to their PM?
Thanks in advance if you can advise. Jmack

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
