I posted yesterday because I had thumping palpitations and racing heart suddenly after weeks of having the Life Is Beautiful" experience. To go to the ER or not was my concern. My GP suggested taking an extra atenolol which didn't actually help but allowed me to get some sleep. I so appreciate the dedication and communication between my GP, cardiologist and EP. They saw me today, read my pacemaker and indeed the electrical activity in the atrium had changed. My cardiologist gently advised the EP that the Multaq he was recommending was not a good choice for me because of my body's lack of tolerance for medications of all sorts. So I am to go on Cardizem 120 dosage. I used the search button and did not discover too many horror stories, so I will start on that tomorrow and pray that it solves the problem. Of course when I was in the doctor's office my pulse was 74 with a regular heartbeat and BP great. White coat in reverse. Thank heaven he knew me and know I don't exaggerate. Glad I had that search button to comfort me somewhat.

Hi! So glad you let us know you ate doing well after your last post of concern and discomfort. Yes, there are caring doctors. Sometimes, the communication line is muddled between patient and doctor by a third party or parties, and that, in the end, is as big of a danger to our health as an indifferent or incompetent doctor. Take care. Hopeful Heart

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.

My GP had told me to call last night, didn't matter the hour. And my cardiologist said he is on call this weekend and to call if Cardizem worsened the palpitations or did something else about which I might be concerned. Am I lucky or what to have found such caring doctors. I do pay a fee for my GP which is termed a concierge fee but I think I would cut down on my food before I would give that up.
