Hi, it's been about 5 months since I got my ICD and I think i'm going to get the home monitoring checkup machine thing next week at my routine checkup.
I haven't really been told much about this and I'm sure I will be when they give it to me but I'm just curious about how the checkup is done and how often it's usually done with ICD's? Also anything else would be appreciated
Thanks :)

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.

Hi welcome to the club :-)
I also have an I CD, for about 7 years now. I had a monitor that came with a ''paddle'' about a year ago I was sent a new monitor that automatically reads your info when you come within 8 to 10 feet from it. It's scheduled about every two weeks. I'm so used to it now I don't even realize it done. Mine is in my kitchen, so i don't even have to do anything different. I can be cooking dinner and it takes my info and sends it to my Dr.s office. Every so often I have a few questions to answer on the screen. Other than that, I forget about it.
Good luck :-) Kim
