today marks 11 days post op of implant of St Jude Fortify Assura ICD.
when I initially set up my short term paper work, I had set it up to return to work in 2 weeks.
Shoulder gets sore fairly quickly right now, (one I have arthritis in my left shoulder before the surgery but it never has hurt that bad. and since I can't lift my arm above my shoulder can't fully stretch.
never realized how much everything is connected, trip home from hospital went to point with my right arm, about fainted from the sudden intense pain in my shoulder. Oh well live and learn hoping doc will give me a note to allow another 2 weeks off of work, already talked to work and they said to take the time needed just need the note from the doc.

Time to heal

I do hope that your doctor will be willing to give you an additional two weeks off work! It sounds like your body just needs a little more time. I know for me, I've always taken a month or two to feel fully recovered from surgery, but everyone is different.
Oldearthworm has some good advice to make sure you stretch your shoulder. Once your leads are fully in place (4-6 weeks), start stretching to avoid future problems and pain.
Keep resting and taking it easy and I hope you'll feel good as new in no time!
You know you're wired when...
You need to be re-booted each morning.

Light duty

When I was with the United Steelworkers, we had a lite-duty option ..the union and the business did help the injured and handicapped .. Those, fully capable , just had to work a little harder ..which hurt no one .. The team effort is so very important ..and , dh......... you will have to stretch those muscles some ..stop short of intense pain, of course ..
