I rec. a PM about 6 months ago after a valve replacement in the heart. I have noticed that the PM feels like it's pinching me at times. It can be at rest or when I do daily activieites. Has anyone else experienced this feeling? Is it a problem?
Thanks for your help.

Mine Did Too

I had the same thing. I had my PM put in last April. I think I stopped feeling the pinching about 2 months ago or so. My cardiologist said this is a symptom he hears a lot, and he believes it's from the lead insertions, cutting, or ablations done during the procedure, not the actual PM iteself.
He hears more complaints from those who have had valve replacements because the EP docs have such a hard time getting the lead that is near the valve inserted (if they have that lead put in) and there is more trauma in that area. I had a valve replacement as well, so this is probably the case with both of us. With those who haven't had valve replacements, maybe they had problems getting a lead or two in during the procedure which is causing their pinching.
Hopefully, you'll heal soon and not feel that pinching anymore. Hang in there!

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
pinching

Mine pinched for a long time at least a year. What I put it down to was it is making a home in my chest so it has to create a lot of scar tissue in that area. Other than that if I lay on my left side it is not comfortable. So I sleep on my right side. Its been 20 months now and evrything is going great. The firest year was a lot of aches pains fears and all the emotional stuff that came with the whole ordeal. I dont have a pet name for my PM but I am happy I have it.
So keep coming back here and reading lots and take care.
