My husband he is 40 had his ICD Defibrillator put in Dec 23 2010
It went off 3 times 2 weeks ago went to hospital of course. They checked him they said everything was fine.It did it's job,but it went off again yesterday took him to the hospital again they hooked him up to the monitors said everything is fine go home.So we did.Now he is having lost of problems example having an irregular heart rate now I know the ICD should go off it hasn't but his heart rate goes back down. After he tries to lie down to go to sleep and it does it again. What should we do because taking to hospital they say he's fine go home.PLEASE HELP

He is in the Ottawa Heart Institute and doing much better I might add. They up his amiodarone to 400mg.Change the way his defibrillator acts it will pace his heart 10 times before it shocks him. He should be home today been there since Monday

He needs to be seen by the cardiologist or ep. The ER will only check to see that the ICD is functioning, that his heart is beating ok, that he's stable. They won't dig deeper than that. Sounds like something else is going on. Don't take no for answer.
