Wow what a difference

Hi all I am 4 weeks today post op. Feeling great, NHS gave me excellent advice on does and donts ,I still cannot believe the difference the PM has made to my life. I am still not driving, but advice was hold off for 6weeks until your check up.

I had sinus bradycardia with a resting rate of 22 beats and stopping heart 2/3times per night, waking up regularly with the problem. Since op have slept for the first time in years, wow am I pleased. I am 69 years old, and looking forward to many more happy years.

Hello Poppy : It is great to hear how well you are doing and welcome to the club ..... yet another NHS success story ! Your bradycardia sounded fairly frequent so you must be noticing an enormous difference.

I'm surprised that you can't drive yet. Here in the UK the D.V.L.A. restriction is that we are not allowed to drive for 7 days after PM implant ( I drove 750 miles on day 8 )..perhaps your Dr is being ultra-conservative !

So pleased to hear such a great result. I'm just itching to get back behind the wheel but like you my NHS cardiologist said no driving until they are sure the wires have fully bonded at my check up. Wouldn't risk anything yet as don't want to have problems later on. Be cautious and safe. I think DVLA aren't worried about our wires but it all depends on if you are a new pm patient or on a replacement where the wires are already fixed. I've got to wait another 2 weeks and then I'll be back in the driving seat.

Hi. So good to hear how well you are doing. I too have just had a very successful outcome of a NHS procedure. I can't fault the NHS. I have received excellent & speedy cardiac care recently. I am SO pleased for you too. I go to a NHS hospital in London. Hope you continue to do really well.
