In early May, I had a triple bypass and at that time, after healing i was informed that I would need to have a new device installed due to my other device bing outdated and needing a new batter. I have since recovered from my triple bypass and in early September, I had a new device installed and a new lead that went down to the area of the bypass. Everything seemed to be fine for the first week, then I started collecting fluids around the pacemaker and eventually it started seeping out of the corner of the incision. A month later and I continue to have a watery with a tinge of bloody fluid seeping out of the scar. It used to accumulate and then leak for a few hours but now it seems that as soon as the fluid is building up, it is seeping out. The Dr. continues to tell me it isn't infection but that my body may be trying to reject the device. He said eventually, after scare tissue forms, my body will accept the device and will not collect the fluid. I have been on two forms of antiobiotic through all of this. During my visit yesterday tot he Dr. they said i could bandage the wound up again and to come back in 10 days. Sound familiar to anyone?? Thanks!

Hi! Whatever is the cause of your seepage, you need an answer. Just come back later does not sound appropriate. Are you running fever? Do you have other bothersome symptoms? You need resolution now, and It appears you need different medical care. Please take action now to avoid the possibility of a longer, difficult recovery. Hopeful Heart

I wouldn't be here if it were not for this amazing technology inside of me.
go see an infectious disease specialist

Don’t waste any time getting another opinion and treating this aggressively. The cultures that a cardiologist will do are not the same as an infectious disease specialist. Hopefully it’s not infection, but I wouldn’t wait around another ten days with crossed fingers. Be proactive. If it *is* infected and your dr is wrong, that’s a lot of time for it to grow.
