Hi all.....does anyone have any idea about ability for PET scans with a pacer? I have a lung disease and can no longer have MRI's due to the pacer. How about PET scans? Anyone had experience with this subject? Thanks..........

PET scans are NOT the same as CT scans. PET means Positron Emission Tomography and are done using isotopes emitting positrons i.e. a type of nuclear medicine. CT scans use an X-Ray tube or in some cases dual tubes .The type of pacemakers that are manufactured that patients can have MRI under certain conditions are called conditional not compatible.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
