Upper Rate chaged again...

Went to the pacer clinic today and my EP authorized my rate to be upped to 200... yeah!

A few other timing changes were made that I don't understand... my AV node is trying to take over while exercising causing the PM to think I am in some strange rhythm and putting me in 2:1 block. He had the nurse do some timing changes to see if that fixes it...

I will post back with the results!

Went out today and did some intervals that in the past caused me to go into the 2:1 block..... and thankfully it didn't happen. I felt great, but am taking it slow.. will keep ya posted!

Expected results

I would expect you to have the results you are experiencing. The sad thing is that the 2:1 block is a well known effect of a low Upper Tracking Limit in a fit person. They should have changed it long ago.

Congratulations on getting it done.

Agreed

I'm happy to hear that USMC-Pacer.

I agree with Frank, the EPs should have taken this into consideration when they implanted this device.

I don't understand why they kept your Upper Tracking Limit at a low rate from the start, the same thing happened to me.

As a result, when I go for my interrogaton visits, I am very careful who goes near the pacemaker.

Enjoy all your runs USMC - Pacer!!!!!

Not sure..

by USMC-Pacer - 2012-12-22 12:12:01

I am not sure either. I can only think they want us to take it easy at first. Maybe a liability thing??? The nurse only said that they are not use to dealing with patients my age. She wanted to raise my rate only 5 to 180, the EP said "no" lets got to 200.... So far it has fixed my symptoms..

Great workout today...

But, my HRM seems to be stuck after 158 - it will not go higher.. However, I do not have the "hit the wall 2:1 block symptoms" anymore. I may try jogging without the HRM and just go by how a feel for a while and see how it goes. I am not sure why the HRM seems to be malfunctioning, but it is...(only paid $24 for it, so...)

Keep ya posted..!

You know you're wired when...

You play MP3 files on your pacer.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
