Incision healing

I'll be 3 weeks post op on Wednesday. I have a Medtronic Sure Scan RVDR01 for bradycardia that resulted in a complete heart block. I'm 40 years old and very active prior to PM implantation. My PM is sub-pectoral and the incision was glued and not stapled or sutured. My incision is still raised quite a bit above my chest. (Noticable through my clothing)

How long did it take for the rest of you to get to the point where your incision was flat? As I'm still young and female I'm not thrilled about the idea of a raised scar, especially since its's where my sports bras cross my chest and I'm afraid it will be very uncomfortable from rubbing during my workouts.

Im at 3 months since PM surgery. My scar is raised, but not horrible, its there though.Maybe its not a big deal for me cause I had open heart as a child and have lived my entire life with a long scar from my middle chest all the way down just above my abdomen.
I can feel and see the outline of the PM myself, but I try my best not to focus on it.
As far as sports bras and such,it was a concern in the beginning, but not any longer.I wear reg and sports bras with no issue, and my area is right there too.
I put moisturizer on the scar, actually what I use on my face twice daily and its working ok for me to keep the site as healthy as I can keep it while its been healing.
I figuren it could be much worse,so I try not to focus on it,its small compared to my other one!
You'll be fine,3 weeks is early to expect it all to be flat and healed, youll get there!

incisions

It depends on your skin and your surgeon. Mine flattened by 6 months, was white by a year or so, by 2 yrs is almost invisible. I put medical grade vitamin E on it a lot when it was new. Regardless of how it looks, it should be fine with a sports bra. My scar is off to the side (closer to my shoulder) so the arm of the sports bra goes right over it, I don't even notice it.

Mine is also buried. It took a little longer to heal, it was about 3 months before I could painlessly do anything at the gym. Now I can do anything I want so it was totally worth it. The only thing I don't do is ring rows, they aggravate the scar tissue so I do presses or push ups instead.

You'll be back to the gym before you know it! Good luck.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
