I took 2 pain pills before bed last night for my shoulder, neck, and upper back. I also propped up my arm in a position that caused the least pain. All the muscle groups I mentioned were freezing up on me and were painful in just about every position. I put my arm on a little leash to sleep in so it could not end up over my head. I slept really well and woke up feeling way better. I think the combination of the pre-bed time massage my wife gave me and the pain meds combined with the fact that I did not sleep for more than 20 minutes in a row the previous night made for a good night’s sleep.
This morning, 12 hours since I took those meds before bed, I was starting to freeze up again so I just now popped 2 more pain meds. I don’t recommend this to everyone (popping pills) but I will say that the pain meds do their job by allowing me to keep my arm moving freely and improving my range of motion. These pain meds can be addictive and do cause constipation so I caution anyone wishing to start taking them.
Thanks again everyone, the beat goes on, Eric
