Hi ,everyone ,
Was wondering if anyone had the same symptoms,
i had a dual pace maker fitted end April this year due to Sick sinus node, everything seemed ok apart from the odd palpitation when taking the heart rate up during excercise , but the last 3-4 days mainly when resting especially when going to bed i am getting lots of infrequent palpitations / fluttering sensations lasting throughout the night , has anyone else had the same problem ,and if so did they manage to sort out the problem ;
Cheers ,Ted Sponge .

palpitations and flutterings
by Alma Annie - 2012-08-27 08:08:25
I have had them since pm, but especially after 2nd ablation March this year. Evening, when watching TV and night time always worst. Last week it was suggested I take a magnesium supplement or at least increase magnesium rich foods. Amazingly it is helping, although I don't want to speak too soon. They are a lot less. Apparently lack of adequate magnesium in diet can cause some heart irregularities.
Try it, much better than all the drugs.

Hi Ted:
I also got my PM in April and have had palpitations & flutterings for at least 3-4 months usually when walking or after eating a meal.
Have been working on this with my cardiologist Drs. & continue to do so.
Have worn a Holter monitor & had a chest Xray but nothing abnormal was found, so I was advised to increase my Metopolol dosage . Initially some improvement but I will have to consult w/Drs further.
Also, I have been using chelated Magnesium supplements &a mineral rich form of Hawaiian spirulina because I understand that these help w/ heart rhythm issues.
Hope this is of some value to you.
Best Wishes,
Bruce

Hi Ted
Mine goes up to around 100bpm when I lay down, stretch or get in the lounge chair... my heart doesn't want to beat in that position....it stays there till my bpm can keep above 50bpm. Same at night when I sleep...not sure Dr can do anything...though w me I have both Sick sinus and Tach.....I used to take Verapamil..its a blocker but not sure if it is something that would work for your issues. Hang in there...
