update on arm pain

I posted a while back about left arm pain following my pacemaker implant. Well, here I am 11 weeks out and still having pain with increasing numbness and tingling. I think it is my ulnar nerve since it is my little finger and outside of ring finger that have gotten numb over the past day. I see a neurologist next week. Also seeing my family doc tomorrow to ask for a referral to the Cleveland Clinic. Finally got smart and realized the cardiologist/EP and her partner are great heart docs but not pain docs. They made the referral to a neurologist after I kept bugging them. One said the pacemaker might be impinging on a nerve but didn't think it needs to be moved. "Should be better in a year or so". Not willing to wait. I'll let you know what happens.

Is it numb...

...all the time or intermittently? Can YOU influence whether or not it hurts/gets numb, or is it completely out of your control?

I'd think those are important questions. You will have to figure that out for the neuro.

Good idea seeing the neurologist. This has been going on too long. It's getting worse isn't a good sign.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
