After Surgery Recovery

I'm scheduled in a few weeks to receive a pacemaker for the first time. I will attend a consultation to receive more details before the surgery. It's hard for me to take off work for a certain lenght of time. Can any one give me an idea of work missed for this surgery if any?

Dependant on what you do for work should give you an idea of how long you may need to be off for.
If your pacer goes on your opposite side,if youre right handed it should go on the left, and visa versa,or so Ive learned.
Depends on how you feel, and what you do,how well you rest at home, sleep and heal.
I am 1 month plus 1 day post surgery 1st time PM patient.
I can honestly say the beginning wasnt easy, and Im a tough chick. It was hard, but now,Im feeling alot like I used to feel.My symptoms came on quickly,I had been working out 7 days a week and felt fabulous, until one day.
Then within a tab bit more than 2 weeks,I had a Pm put in.So life changed quickly, and its been tough to adapt.
But,I am now.Ive had a few bumps in the road, had 2 trips to the er,nothing horrible but still scarey, and have a local cardio now for issues that may be small.
He has put me on a med,and had to adjust the amount, telling me its expected for what Ive gone thru, and he feels its temporary.

My main Cardio-electro Dr I will see in 2 weeks, for my 6 week post op check up.Ill be curious to see how he explains things to me,after I tell him whats gone on.......hope these 2 Dr's agree on things, and both feel Im coming along well.
I finally am feeling better, and have gone back to work finally almost full time, doing nail tech stuff, hairdressing has to wait, not allowed yet to raise left arm up......or lift over 5 lbs, until I see Dr and he gives me green light.
Good luck!

I also think it depends on what you do and how old you are. I have an office job and went back in 2 weeks. My problem was I couldn't write. I had my pm on the left side and I'm a lefty so my recovery was a little longer. It's been 3+ months and I feel great. It was tough feeling dizzy for so long. I also have to say I went to the office a few hrs after a week but I couldn't stay very long. My left shoulder was aching me. I think everyone saw I was having trouble and understood I needed a little more time
