New settings ?

Hi I'm brand new in this club. Just had my second ICD/Pacemaker installed . This one is a Medtronic Protecta. My question is my doc had my last one set for 60 bpm. This rate was an increase from my resting rate of 50 bpm. My new Protecta is now set for 70 bpm. My doctorl gave me the option of returning to 60 bpm or staying at 70 bpm. I don't feel any difference. Any thoughts/comments are welcome.

...don't fix it!

There are so many combinations of settings, I'd wait & see how it goes. If the Dr. is willing to change it, pocket that offer till when you feel like you need it. Meanwhile be thankful that all seems to be well at this point!

Some people find it hard to get to sleep with a faster HR. While it didn't bother me right after implant to have it set to 70, I had it lowered to 55 with the thought of it being more natural for me. My resting rate during sleep is actually around 58 so the result is that I don't pace. This results in a small saving on the battery.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
