Breathing issue from surgery

Hello to All:
I had my first pacemaker surgery about 18 months ago for a second degree heart block. I was recently told that my pacemaker was malfunctioning and needed to go back in for surgery. I had my second surgery 6 weeks ago however when they replaced the pacemaker they dislodged the leads and never sutured them back in place. My pacemaker was firing while the leads were dangling in my chest. This continued for over a week before it was discovered. Since this surgery, I have experienced shoulder pain, a tightness in my throat while breathing which is worse when bending. It is like a knot is in my throat which comes and goes, some times worse then others. I was told it could be pluerisy, but it has not improved. Is it possible while the leads were firing that it could have damaged my diaphragm?? Please help. BTW, had to go back in for a third surgery to correct the issue that my cardiologist caused and all seems to be fine except my breathing issue.

Thank you Hopeful Heart & 082343.

I do plan to go this week to the doctor...I did use a new cardiologist for my third surgery and he was just great. It has been such a nightmare and hardship, but I am thankful to be moving forward. I will keep you posted.

what a nightmare

Hi! If my medical care had done to me what yours has done to you, I would be RUNNING to new care with my records IN HAND. Besides what is past, you have your current problem to resolve, which may or may not turn out to be a result of the past and can or cannot be serious. It is making you uncomfortable and worry, so please seek medical advice, and I hope things get better for you soon. Hopeful Heart
