Hi :) i have had my pacemaker for 11 years now and i got it implanted when i was four and am now 15. Recently i have been experiencing really sharp chest pains around the area of my pacemaker, it has been going on for quite a few months now and i am worried something has gone wrong?
I do have a checkup in a couple of weeks and will be sure to ask.
The pain is getting considerably worse and i'm not sure what to do about it, any suggestions to what is causing my pain?

Katie, Please dont wait until your checkup, call your doctor. It needs to be checked out. Keep us posted.

Maybe your lead is working itelf loose and causing muscle pain? I honestly have little experience but I suggest you right down what you are doing, what it feels like, and where, and make sure to express this to your doc on the next visit. Does your ICD also have milder shocks to try to get your heart situtated before a shock? Maybe this is set too high? I am not sure. Please, your thoughts are valuable as my son will experience the same... at 16

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
Have you called your Dr?
