Hi all!
I had my third PM put in on June 24th, 2013. I went from one lead to two leads. During surgery, the doctor hit my lung and caused it to collapse (Pneumothorax) to 40%. As a result I got a blood clot in the subclavian artery. They put me on Xaralto because it was new and I wouldn't have to have my levels checked. I have been told that after 10 days it reabsorbs and if it can sometimes form scar tissue. I am having vision problems and dizziness and I think it could be from the medicine. Anyone have any advice they can give me from their personal experience?

If that clot is REALLY in the artery, NOT the brain, there's a chance a hunk of it broke off & went to the brain.
The symptoms you describe are ALSO STROKE symptoms.
Get to an ER Immediately YOU cannot rule out a stroke - only a Dr can do that. There's too much at risk here to mes around.
There are REAL time limits on how soon you have to get help for stroke & you are pushing them right now.

No sign of stroke

I have felt this way ever since I got out of the hospital. I have been to the ER during these symptoms and they said no such thing of it being a stroke. The pharmacist said it could take a few days before feeling better if the Xaralto was indeed what was causing these symptoms.
Good News!

Dixie: Glad that you went to an ER for this earlier.
Smart move.
