On may 14,2012 I went in for ablation and they ended up putting in an ICD while putting in the ICD one of the leads punctured my heart. When I came out of surgery I was in the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. They kept telling me everything was fine the next day they came in and rushed me of to surgery quickly they said they need to adjust the leads. The incision is just now healing almost eight later the scab has just now went away.About 3 weeks after I left the hospital I ended back in the hospital with phnuemonia.I"ve been really fatigued since the surgery and my depression has gotten worse.I was wondering if any one else has had any of these complications. It seems like it is taking forever to heal from this.I am so regretting getting the ICD

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
It will get better

I had a pericardial effusion following a lead re-citing and subsequent horrendous night sweats and extreme pain in my shoulder. I was later diagnosed with dresslors syndrome. I also had 550ml of fluid drained from my left lung. Despite all the problems I returned to full fitness and have never regretted getting my ICD. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about. Keep strong and stay positive it will all come good in the end. :-)
