i had pacemaker surgery in early march started do stuff like raking the lawn and digging the garden and them about 6 weeks after the surgery my heart flatlined 7 times.they had to replace one of the leads as it became detatched from the heart so now in back at square one and my doc is taking extra precautions like not using my arms for 6 weeks so looks like im taking the summer off.by the way my diagnosis was full block and i drive truck and do heavy lifting so it will be a while before i can return to work and just fyi im a 54 year old male.

Hi Northerndude,

That was really bad luck having that happen, it must have been a really scary time for you. I have three leads and my biggest worry in the early days was having a lead go wrong.
I hope it all goes well for you now.

On a lighter note. It's bad luck being off work this summer with all the bad weather (assuming you're in the UK).

I am recovering my 2nd lead replacement and pacemaker surgery July 4th. I was in a car accident, a couple of weeks ago. First surgery was March 13th, I have a desk job, back to work on Monday. Keeping fingers crossed for my Aug 4th follow up appointment. I am 49 year old female. Luckily I have a very good friend to take care of my black lab x. Hope your recovery is fast

im feeling much better now but the hard part is not raising my arms or doing vigorous work so i dont pull the leads out again.im living in northwestern ont. canada and the weather has been very hot.
