arrhythmias

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had experienced something similar. Had pacemaker installed 4 weeks ago and now find that I suffer from arrhythmia and fluttering. This was picked up by the pacemaker team after I repeatly complained about feeling ill. Is this common after having pacemaker surgery?

I was given beta blockers which seemed to inprove things for a day or two, but now 7 days later feel much the same.  Any comments would be gratefully received.

settings

I would ask about the settings, see if they can be tweaked rather than treat with meds. Sometimes the heart just needs a little time to adjust, sometimes the timing needs to be adjusted on the pm. Either way, I'd talk my way out of the drugs for now. They take 4-6 weeks to fully take effect and for us to get used to the side effects, by then hopefully you won't need them.

atrial tachycardia after pm fitting

Hi Tracey
Thank you so much for responding. I now have found out the correct wording for my condition, atrial tachycardia. Unfortunately I was perscribed beta blockers and have been taking them for neartly 2 weeks. It is my 6 week check up on Friday and so they can turn down my pm then. Do you think this will make much difference to my condition.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
