I went in for a check up today, and the second time the tech changed my heart rate, I felt the horrible sensation in the area of my pacemaker, not my heart. It instantly made me feel nauseaus, tired and headachy. She said I couldn't have felt it there, and said it was nothing to be concerned about and everything seemed to be fine.
I have been doing well over the past few months, but this episode has left me concerned. If I shouldn't have felt it the way I did, how could everything be fine?
Any ideas?

feelings

We don't always feel an effect in the exact area of our bodies where things are happening. Have you ever had the experience of scratching a spot on your leg and feeling it on your head? (I know, I'm weird)'
When they are running the office tests your heart is forced to beat at a rate as low as 50 and as high as 100. Not only that they make the change instantaneously, so it feels weird. Next time you have a checkup ask to be told each time they start a test. Then just sit back and relax.
Don't depend on a tech or even a cardiologist to know where you might feel things like this. They really don't know, and tend to just pass it off. The most knowledgeable are members of this forum followed a distant second by a neurologist. It isn't that we are such geniuses, just that we have more direct experience than any doc.

I think Frank said it all. I just hate it when you feel something or sense it and the doctors says "You couldn't have felt so and so there". Oh, I only lived in this body all my life and I'm here just to make things up. Irritates me to no end!! I have learned almost everything I know about my ICD and other symptoms from people's experiences here. That's how I found out I had Diaphragm Stim. I never knew a person who could drive a car solely based on memorizing the drivers manual!
I agree with him about your next office visit. You know how you felt.

testing

Did you feel it while they were testing? It can feel pretty weird sometimes when they turn it up and down to test it. As long as you felt normal when they stopped, I wouldn't worry about it.
