The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.
Heart Attack & A PM

Hi Hannah,
The simple answer to your question is no. Your PM will not mask the symptoms of a heart attack. A heart attack occurs if the flow of oxygen rich blood cannot flow to the heart because of blocked or partially blocked by arteries. The job of the PM is to keep the heart beating and pumping blood but if a heart artery has blockage the blood pumped by the efforts of the PM to keep the heart working cannot get to the heart muscle.
